The legal system is all but broken. Many of its players suffer from ineptitude, laziness, and/or dishonesty. The legal system is civilization's alternative to street justice. Yet, much of the legal system is anything but civilized, fair, reasonable, or comprehensible. Endless delays, trees of paperwork, absurdly complex obstacles, rewards for gladiator style advocacy, unconscionable billings, ill-equipped judicial officers, systemic corruption and dishonesty, Rambo attorneys, and so many other toxins, frequently result in outrageously protracted, ridiculously expensive, and insanely painful proceedings.
Proceedings in Court often take years, thousands of dollars, and leave its litigants bruised and broken, often wishing they had never entered in the first instance, or, had gotten out of it when they had the chance. Judicial and jury decisions are made based upon hardly an ounce of truth yet a pound of lies. Lawyers sometimes state that their purpose is to keep the truth out of the courtroom, that family courts destroy families one by one, and that only the lawyers, judges and experts win no matter who gets the judgment. Hearings are rushed, testimony is prohibited or sharply curtailed, evidence is not received or is selectively received, and results are wrong as often as they are right.
Hi. My name is Robert Sainburg. I am an attorney, licensed by the State Bar of California, State Bar Number 157707, in good standing, with no disciplinary history, never having been sued for legal malpractice, and have been in practice for over three long and eventful decades. I grew up in Lakewood, California, born to a general surgeon from New York, and an artist from Texas. I attended University of California at Los Angeles and studied philosophy for my undergraduate bachelor of arts degree, and Loyola Law School evening program for my juris doctor degree. I was awarded multiple awards upon graduation by my class.
I am licensed to practice in all state trial and appellate courts in all counties in the State of California, in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. I have provided over one million dollars of free legal services for the needy, have taken on many unpopular causes, and have worked steadfastly to raise the quality of our courts through the thousands of matters I have handled.
I counsel my clients from the first moment I am in contact with them. I provide psychological care to my clients. My first job is that of a counselor. I provide counsel as to the wisdom and propriety of taking a matter to trial versus settlement, seeking appellate intervention versus allowing some trial court error to pass unchallenged, or how to approach and survive in an adversarial case.
I am sought for consultation by law firms, attorneys and clients, whether for second opinions, or litigation strategies. I enjoy providing my counsel to others who may benefit from my expertise just as I enjoy mentoring younger attorneys just entering the field of law.
I also use all of these experiences as an attorney combined with my personal life experiences to help parties reach agreement, to settle differences, and to act in a responsible manner, not to mention to shield from the sometimes brutal realities of Court. I am always grounded in my practice principles.
